Case Study — Customer Requirements

Original Objective

Many large enterprises rely on time-honored Waterfall methods — where every phase of a project is documented ahead of rolling out the overall plan to the customer. Pearson, an educational measurement company, wanted to house and easily use existing templates and artifacts for website development, change management, quality control, and project completion. But every piece of information remained hopelessly scattered, including being hidden on several employee desktop computers or laptops.

Applied Expertise

SGS Design personnel focused on gathering existing materials and creating novel devices related to customer requirements. These essential items were included sequentially into a new company-wide Intranet site that equipped anyone within the organization to access collaborative tools before leading or participating in significant planning meetings. If something looked or sounded archaic and demanded updating, our Graphic Designer and Technical Writer would assist there as well.

Recognized Benefit

Every conceivable feature could now be found effortlessly within a single, multi-faceted location. As a result, project facillitators compiled workbooks, reworked presentation slides, and revised documentation in half the time required beforehand... and better yet, each representative agreed to implement identical artifact types. Employees set department standards for regular and unique tasks — whether in Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Visio, Balsamic, or other favorites.
